Chicken

Daddy: "Caelan, what do you think of when I say, 'red, white and blue'?"

Caelan: "Ahhhhhhmmmm.....
Chicken!"

Have we come to this, that children associate the greatest power on Earth with KFC? Why won't our Senators and Congress face facts, and stop licking the grease from their fingers and restore dignity to The White House?! (there are two links there....)

Blasphemously Humorous

What sells? The ad folks have hit all bases here! (as has that guy...)

Another: Much more to the point.

I guess it's one of those "what was I thinking" moments.

Links

Here are some links Chris and I were chatting about last night...

"The Daily Dish" from Time Mag's Andrew Sullivan:
He's got some good links to other news sites, and he updates like crazy.

And check out http://amsam.org/ for
"everyone in the worldwide intelligence community knew that 9/11 was an inside job as soon as it happened".

The Sage of Omaha

So, what's the Sage of Omaha up to?
The Sage, also known as the second richest man after Mr. Bill, is the chairman of Berkshire Hathaway, Warren Buffett. Berkshire earns it's billions with OPM. A very strong strategy. The Sage beds with both Democrats and Republicans, is fond of quoting scripture, and plays money markets: he has been betting on a weak dollar since 2003 (and "Mr Buffett told shareholders at the company's meeting [May 6th] that he expected the US dollar to continue to weaken"). Of course the Sage has his own conspiracy theory pages, including "Where was Warren on 9/11?" That site is pretty scary unto itself!
My point? The Sage is looking to rid himself of some cash. $30 billion to be exact. His ideas are easy to trace: he buys undervalued companies which have close to, or an exacting monopoly on their market. He also is looking for a successor to his job, and he's keeping real quiet about who, suffice to say,
If I die tonight, the person who takes over tomorrow won't get as many phone calls perhaps
Warren Buffett
He also affects entire economies: He "sent shares in Tel Aviv... to record highs on Sunday - Israeli investors... continue to eye [his] acquisitions in Israel."
So will Warren Buffett take over the suffering Hyundai monopoly? It fits his MO. It would help the Korean won from it's gains this year...

Anyway, my only interest: weak dollar makes working here better!

Fav. New Link!

http://time.blogs.com/daily_dish/

Check it out.... Here's a take, below:

RUMSFELD: [I]t appears that there were not weapons of mass destruction there.

McGovern: You said you knew where they were.

RUMSFELD: I did not. I said I knew where suspect sites were and we were ... just ... (crosstalk)

McGovern: You said you knew where they were Tikrit, Baghdad, northeast, south, west of there. Those are your words.

RUMSFELD: My words ... my words were that ... no, no, no wait a minute, wait a minute. Let him stay one second. Just a second.

Here's the transcript to which McGovern was referring:

MR. STEPHANOPOULOS: Finally, weapons of mass destruction. Key goal of the military campaign is finding those weapons of mass destruction. None have been found yet. There was a raid on the Answar Al-Islam Camp up in the north last night. A lot of people expected to find ricin there. None was found. How big of a problem is that? And is it curious to you that given how much control U.S. and coalition forces now have in the country, they haven't found any weapons of mass destruction?

SEC. RUMSFELD: Not at all. If you think -- let me take that, both pieces -- the area in the south and the west and the north that coalition forces control is substantial. It happens not to be the area where weapons of mass destruction were dispersed. We know where they are. They're in the area around Tikrit and Baghdad and east, west, south and north somewhat.

MR. STEPHANOPOULOS: Do you think we'll still be fighting in Iraq six months from now?
SEC. RUMSFELD: Oh, goodness, you know, I've never -- we've never had a timetable. We've always said it could be days, weeks, or months and we don't know.

No time-table; no plan; no contingencies. Yet we risked everything. Fire Rumsfeld Now.

Famous Last Words

Your Famous Last Words Will Be:

"Goodbye. I am leaving because I am bored."

Odd. With only 3 questions, it's right on!

...And one more. No kidding, I was worried about a couple of the questions, but I guess I should thank my 5th grade history teacher.....

You Passed the US Citizenship Test

Congratulations - you got 10 out of 10 correct!
